The CIRKO-MES Center in Skopje , Macedonia , is in the process of recruiting 100 graduating students from the Faculties of Technology, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering to be trained, with USAID's funding, in C and C++ programming. From this group, the best students will be selected to begin training with EIN SOF for the JCI project.
The Center will train the students utilizing the equipment donated from SUN Microsystems and utilizing SkillSoft CBT courses. The Center will also offer its facilities, free of charge for 12 months, to the EIN SOF staff to prepare the trained students to work with JCI, as well as deliver the contracted outsourcing services. The Center welcomes JCI and their newly formed Macedonian Foundation to its building and will provide an office for the foundation on the same floor where the JCI development team will be working. The Center is particularly suited for this purpose since it focuses its activities on the automotive industry, housing the Macedonian center for vehicle testing, the MEF students' research project on the “car of the future” design, and the proposed incubator for new Macedonian companies managed by graduating students.
In summary, JCI will benefit from the use of the Center by having access to a large pool of trained engineers, fully equipped IT laboratory with various training programs, an automotive industry focused activities and well funded base from USAID and the university.
